Britax Frontier ClickTight Harness 2 Booster Car Seat Black Friday Deals 2019
I work for protects and I’m here today to show you the frontier click site which is a hardest – booster seat in our harness booster range we have the Pioneer seat the frontier click type and the pinnacle click type and each seat offers a little something different and they step up in safety and ease of use and comfort for the child as you move up but right here we have the frontier click type and a couple special things about this type of seat is that it allows you to keep the child in the five-point harness longer which is right here so a lot of times children will outgrow a convertible car seat forward-facing sometimes by height before weight or sometimes by weight before height and then they realize that their next option might be a belt-positioning booster but they might have a younger child who just isn’t mature enough or ready to move into that booster seat in comes the harness the booster category this came out about 2008 and we added click type to it which I’m going to show you in a moment in about 2013 so it’s really really become more popular as that transition between convertible and booster seat what’s so great about this is you don’t have to purchase a booster seat after the child outgrows the harness because this actually has the booster capabilities built right into it when you loosen up this harness and you put the high head restraint you can see right here that you actually have the shoulder belt path right up here and then down here you have the lap belt path so you can take the harness out and it becomes your belt positioning booster so it’s really a two-in-one forward-facing car seat couple things about the weight range and the height range on the seat is that it’s great for let’s just say a family that might have two children that are about two years apart and you are trying to make the most of your money and not have to buy a double of everything so when that older child who might be two two and a half is in their convertible car seat and their little baby brother is being out of the infant car seat instead of having to buy a second convertible for the younger child you can actually purchase the frontier kink type for the older child and move the younger one into the older child’s convertible car seat I know that sounds confusing but this seat right here is going to be the last seat that that two-year-old believe it or not is going to need and then the younger child behind it can stay in that convertible a little bit longer and then get their own harnessed a booster seat this seat right here on the side of the seat you can actually see the label it can be hard to see in the video but if you’re ever questioning who fits what seat always check your labels or your manual and on the side here in the harness mode you can see that it ranges from 25 pounds to 90 pounds now 25 pounds could be a one and a half-year-old so the nice thing about the seat in the user guide is that it’s safe that the child must be 2 years old you want to keep that child rear-facing as long as the child seat allows so better that you wait then to move into the seat early but yeah so 2 years old and 25 pounds as the minimum using the hardest here and then it goes to 90 pounds so 90 pounds could be a 9 year old it could be an 8 year old it could be a 10 year old there are some parents out there that are keeping their children in the five-point harness longer I mean racecar drivers are driving around with five-point harness so it truly is the safest way for a child to be in a car seat but that’s great you can keep those children in longer and then when they’re ready to transition into it the booster seat two things you want to make sure of is that you’re not moving them into the booster seat position too early so you want to look at height and weight minimums and on the side of the seat here that talks about those minimums it would be 40 pounds is the absolute minimum that you can add the child to you can position the seat as a booster but what’s really important is the height it’s 45 inches so you don’t want to transition your growing toddler into a belt-positioning booster too early and it does go all the way up to 100 pounds and sixty two inches I believe this might be the one on the market that you can use the longest in terms of the weight and the height limits now in terms of ease of install when you’re using it as a harness see we have the click type built into it which is hidden right behind the harness when you pull up the back pad right here you can see where are the hands you can stick your fingers in and it actually opens up like that so once it’s open we can install it very easily you’re going to take the shoulder belt and the lap belt cinch them together and pass them over the armrests under the clip tight mechanism again over the other armrest I always tried to give myself a little bit more slack so that when I’m over here trying to buckle it in it doesn’t get stuck so that’s buckled in we’re just gonna pull out some of the slack here feed it back into the shoulder and the one thing that you don’t want to do is tighten the belt too much because you’re not going to be able to close the click tight so you don’t want it too loose and you don’t want it too tight and you don’t want it twisted so we want to make sure that that’s taken care of and then you just close I usually count to three and so I can get my pressure on it so I just go one two three listen for that click and it’s nice and tight where you want to check to see that it’s installed correctly it’s just giving it a good tub right at the belt path notice how it’s shaking the whole seat right here but the seat is in solid and the last thing that you want to do when you install the seat as a forward-facing harness II is connect this top tether and typically the anchor point is on the back of the seat or in the roof or the back of the vehicle now if you’re going to install this seat as a booster seat what we’ve always told people is don’t use seat belt and latch at the same time but for installing it as a booster seat you’re actually going to be using the seat belt across the child’s chest and so you can use latch to basically secure the seat to the vehicle and I’m going to show you where the latch is in this seat take the seat belt off because this is going to go in front of the seat now for the child that’s in the belt positioning booster mode and in the seat pan of the frontier you’re going to see the latch anchors so they’re hidden because you don’t want to use them when the seat is in harness mode because typically if your child’s over 40 pounds they’re too heavy for that mode of installation so these are really used for about positioning booster mode and they position the seat so that it’s down moving around on your back seat.
